Qualit Products That Promote Creativity

As the General Manager for Food & Beverage Operations and Development of Regent Hotel, Vivian Lin has worked in the hotel industry for more than two decades. Often scouting out new hotels and new catering brands in the market, regarding the current market, she believes, “the mission of the Regent's Food and Beverage operation is to bring various global excellences into Taiwan and allow the world to see more of Taiwan's achievements.” For the Regent Hotel, this means “its mission of food and beverage is to fuse gourmet food and beverages of different countries under one roof, where western and eastern culture can intermingle.”

This cultural fusion is what THL can bring to the Regent Hotel, Vivian expressed. To the Regent, THL is more than a supplier because its items are worldrenowned, with quality that matches Regent's brand vision. “Take THL's S. Pellegrino for example. It's a world-renowned brand of sparkling water, and it often invites top chefs from all over the world to Taiwan as guest chefs for various establishments. This also helps Taiwan's local culinary talent branch out to the world. In a way this is just like what the Regent is doing.”

Taiwan’s pearl milk tea is renowned internationally. Regent Hotel broke new grounds with its creativity. From July 18 to August 31, its presents “Pearl Craze. Tapioca balls carnival.” It fuses Chinese and Western creative cuisine for the table of a 5-star hotel. It has already become a popular in the media.

According to Vivian, other than being the agent of top quality products, THL also encourages creativity in Regent's kitchen. “We plan to fuse Haribo Goldbären into a dessert for a restaurant during Children's Day to make a product that's truly memorable. By using natural ingredients in creative ways, we can make dishes more interesting and create a win-win situation for the product and the restaurant.”

Vivian smiles comments on how the world is slowly beginning to get infatuated with Taiwanese cuisine. Just like how pearl drinks have started a trend in Japan and Korean, beef noodles, minced pork on rice is starting to become a new trend in Los Angeles and New York and other culinary hotspots. “Next year will be the Michelin Guide's third evaluation of Taiwan's culinary prowess, and the Regent will continue its mission to show off Taiwan's best to the world, and to let the world know Taiwan is a place rich in culinary depth.”
